Advice & Tips
As an anti-cholinergic, amitriptyline caused the unexpected side-effect of causing my bladder muscle to barely function at all - detrusor aflexia. UTIs were a result, as well as residual urine.

Advice & Tips
Amitriptyline is first-rate for fibromyalgia, the drug of choice to start with. For me, it improves sleep and pain. Studies have proven this. Not sure about depression, though. I take other meds for that.

Advice & Tips
I took this medication for two days. The first day, I was severely fatigued, felt drunk with slurred speech, off balance and couldn't function. The second day, I was unable to get out of bed due to severe fatigue, mental function very low, weakness in entire body.
