I have tried a long list of different seizure meds I feel for the most part the Vimpat seems to work the best for me. I would like to try to get off the other 2 seizure meds I take and just try the Vimpat alone. I have had a rough past couple of years seizure wise so I am very reluctant to try it tho.
I was taking 3000 mg of Keppra per day when I began taking Vimpat and had to reduce the dosage 500 mg every 2 weeks. I feel like a new person. I was having 3-4 seizures per week; now I am only having 2 maybe 3 a month- I haven't driven since my first seizure in 2006 (I have absence seizures ) due to the number of seizures per day, but that is a small price to pay for actually having a life with so few seizures now. I still take 500 mg topamax also to help with seizure and migraine control but to not walk around in a "drug induced fog" is a blessing!
