I have been on this medication for 25 years. I just went off when I had my children. This has been one of the drug of choices for me. I have never had Lithium poisoning and I get blood work done regularly. I did have a thyroid problem that they believe was stemmed from Lithium. They cut my Lithium back for a while and it went away. I went back to 900 mg later on and I have not had a thyroid problem since.
