I really can't tell if Wellbutrin is helping me or not. The last several years have been so difficult for me that I'm not sure anything can help except time (and good psychotherapy!)

I've been taking Wellbutrin since 2006. Since I've had several severe depression episodes since then, I really don't think it is helping at all.

Well, I'm still depressed somewhat. But the reasons for it are more than biochemical, so I'm taking the med. Who knows what kind of shape I'd be in without it? (previously, bad!)

It took several months for me to see a long term change in my depression and thoughts about death. I tried adding another medication for anxiety that I had in the initial phases, but it made me feel too sleepy. Knowing the anxiety stemmed from the meds helped me understand why I was getting anxious so it did not go out of control and eventually this side effect has subsided.
