Be honest. Be open. Everyone has issues and if you can talk about them honestly you will be taking care of yourself and it will help. Forgive yourself for your faults and know that you can reverse bad habits, moods, attitudes, thoughts and patterns.
I take mood stabilizer-Lamictal (because of short half-life-I take 200mg a.m. and 200mg p.m.) and ADHD med. Vyvanse ( because of insomnia potential) I take in a.m.
The rest I take at bedtime because of sedating effect.
Because of the therapy I have worked through issues of abuse and many other issues have been eliminated, solved, brought peace and healing.
I sometimes just get plain tired of taking meds everyday, however I do stay med compliant.

Advice & Tips
Public transportation is not practical here unfortunately. I am usually not able to drive myself to my appointments. Friends used to drive me, but they got too busy. Now my husband works from home one day each week so he can take me to my appointments.
My functioning is greatly increased as a result of my weekly therapy sessions. Sometimes I don't want to go because I don't feel well enough to work on any challenge, but my therapist urges me to meet with her anyway so she can monitor me. I guess it's like being an outpatient who has to check in regularly. I am so challenged by day-to-day living, I am not able to work on long-term goals. I look forward to when I can.
Using the computer and its search engine on the internet I learnt a great deal about my problems, was able to self diagnose which was later ran by the doctor (psyciatrist) who confirmed my diagnosis.
Late I started using dialectal behaviour therapy using their daily diary/record sheets which in the end had a big impact on my daily life I was able to break from the confines of psycological withdrawal/isolation.
Now I am learning to mix with people again first on a small scale slightly increasing over a period of time.
This also impacts greatly on my lack of range of movement due to spinal damage and breathlessness due to the fybrosis.
