I immediatly felt a positive difference when I started . I am still taking Carbidopa Levodopa , not just the Extended release.My neuro wanted to switch me to another medication (stalevo) which he called Sinemet "with a kick." I was not able to take the Stalevo as my insurance co-payment would have been $100.00. We switched to a combo of Carbidopa Levodopa and Comton.

I have been on the carbidopa/levadopa (25/100) for over 1 year. When I first started I felt an immediate change for the better. About 4 months ago, I started to see more of the old PD symptoms come back. Mostly, I was having leg stiffness/spasms. Then I started having difficulty forming my words, etc. I went for my regular check-up. My peak (on )time had changed from morning to the afternoon. Therefore, I remain on 2 daily doses (am and at lunch ) of the regular carbidopa/levedopa 25/10. At 7pm I take the controlled release. this is to get me through the night and to have a better morning.

With the support of my neurologist, I stopped taking Sinemet 25/100 because I didn't seem to need it. It had been prescribed as PRN, but I was not having a need for it. I keep one or two with me, just in case, but have not taken it in several months.

Have used some form of LDOPA since day one in 2000. Have used it in the following forms: 1. SINEMET 25/100 up too 8x daily 2. SINEMET CR 50/20 up to 6X daily 3. Generic LDOPA 25/100 *DR Jill changed this order to brand name only 4. Generic LDOPA CR 50/200 *DR Jill changed this order to brand name only 5. Neupro (Patch) I did very well on the patch and then they pulled it off the market. 6. PARCOPA 25/100

Works qucik, about 20 minutes but lasts just an hour to asn hour and a half. I get 2 1/1 to 3 hours on the generic LDOPA 25/100. I get maximum benefit when i double up in the morning with PARCOPA and my LDOPA 25/100 CR. Would like to increase my dose back to 50/200.

We have tried to take this time release sinament as one pill, one and half pill and one and one fourth pill. My energy level was definately effected by the amount I took. One and one fourth is best. Too muchmade me nervous and upset, too little made me lethargic.

At my most recent neurologist visit, she told me I had dyskinesias. My wife has also noticed them. I'm not sure how long I"ve had them, probably a few months. At my previous visit, three months ago (when I saw the Nurse Practitioner, not the neurologist), the Nurse did not mention them. They are quite mild - at least mild enough that I don't notice. My neurologist has suggested I take more Amantadine to see if this reduces them.

Had no effect whatsoever until I was on it for a month. Improved eating, dressing, showering when on four pills daily. No improvement in writing or typing until six pills daily - then they became essentially normal (when I'm on). No noticeable on/off periods until went to two pills at a time, three times daily. No improvement in walking until six pills daily - then could walk a mile or so in the morning before going off most of the day. When went to two pills at a time, three times daily, could walk two miles or more in the morning before going off until next pills.
