I've taken Dilantin/Phenytoin for many years. The effect I experience most off this drug is a sort of double vision which isn't too bothersome.

This medicine does make me tired and so it is hard to do my day to day activities. I know that it is working, but that is only because they kept giving me more and more until the doctor could somewhat keep my seizures under control.

This was very effective for my epilepsy (for me anyway!), but it had the worst side effects I've ever experienced. Be careful when you first take it, make sure you know how you handle the side effects!

Antiquated cr*p. Toxicity level was far below effective dosage. Severe CNS inhibition, including neuropathy, depressed breathing and heartrate, and inhibited sensorium. Grand Mal seizures 4-6x/week were preferable to phenytoin at any dosage.
