- Have been on this a long time. When I had gastric bypass, I was told the GERD would go away. My case of GERD is so severe that I still have to take this medication.

- Long term effect (5 years in my case) of Prevacid on the absorption of Fe & B-12 in the stomach; otherwise, it's been a real wonder drug for me. I have a *very* considerate gastroenterologist who gives me physician samples so I don't have to pay for it because my Rx plan doesn't cover the 30mg capsule (which is what gives me the most relief).
