I was seriously suicidal. Lexapro has REALLY helped. It is my most important med. I never miss a dose. Beneficial side effect = slightly lower libido. Time-of-day for dosing is important for me; Evening dosing is not so good (can't fall asleep); morning dosing works well.

The Lexapro hasn't curtailed my desire just my ability to easily achieve orgasm. Since my loss of job I've had to discontinue treatment and noticed an immediate return of ability.

Helped mildly with depression. Didn't help PSTD symptoms at all. Did not get a noticeable uplift in mood until Escitalopram was augmented with Bupropion.

Everyone is different, but I personally don't find Cipralex to be effective. It primarily just increases my side-effects. It is possible that it is keeping my obsessions at bay, however. While not the most difficult SSRI to get off of, doing so can be very uncomfortable (shakes, sweats) and it might be too much trouble for some.
