- ALWAYS TAKE I!!! If I forget to take this medication I feel aweful. Part of this is because I have epilepsy and without the medication in my system I feel disoriented, dizzy, and very seizure prone. As far as Bipolar goes, I am lucky I have one medication to treat both bipolar and epilepsy. Lamictal keeps my moods relatively stable. I have found that it does not completely control my mood by itself. I definitely need other medications in addition to Lamictal to maintain my mood stability. Relative to other mood stabilizers like Depakote Lamictal has not caused any weight gain for me. I have not taken Lithium so I cannot speak about it except to say that my sister lost over 150 pounds when she switched to Lamictal and she did not even have to excercise to lose that weight. She has been doing so well on this medication

- after going off it for a few weeks, i noticed increased feeling of depression that lasted for a almost a week until my doctor put me back on at a lower dose. now i am at 100 mg daily and seem to be doing fine.
