Advice & Tips
The first few days are painful and feel like a bladder infection because of the rigid cystoscopy. The pain is worth it. My duration between Botox visits appears to be a 7-8 month timeframe.
I now have to figure out a way to pay for it since the insurance has changed but other than that it worked beautifully. I actually was getting it done every three months.

Advice & Tips
I can tell really start to tell when the three months is coming up. My calves are a lot more spastic, and I have a propensity to trip/fall more. The VA this last treatment in October. Kinda of frequed them out on how much botox I get. Previously I had been getting treatment at the Mellen Center at CCF. The cost of my care has taken me to the VA. I will see the Docs at the Mellen Center periodically.

I had injections on 4/16/10. A little over 3 months. In the last three weeks or so I noticed increased foot drop and tripping. Falling 4 times in htat three weeks. Next treatment is scheculed for Oct 26th. Its been about 18 hours adn I see benefit already. Right calf (bad one) more jittery/crampy during shots-very bearable.

Advice & Tips
This was my third treatment. The dosage was increased by a hundred units in each calf since the January 2010 treatment. 150left 250right. Walking was improved within a few hours.

Advice & Tips
I was surpised how little pain the injection were. My walking was improved by the next morning.
Have to use catheters three times a day. They are portable and can be used any where but it is easy to get an infection causing pain and leakage from the bladder. Antibiotics for three days sort this out but it is a pain.

Advice & Tips
It initially was very effective but the last treatment left me unable to bear weight and extreme pain. I had to increase my muscle relaxant and am no longer taking Botox every 3 months. On Hold for now- will start again only if needed.

Advice & Tips
I definitely think it was well worth trying. Its effectiveness lasted nearly 3 months for me so it can be costly. If I hadn't tried it I would not be able to participate in the exercise program I am in and I think I wouldn't be very active mobility wise without it. Next week I will have my injections and am really looking forward to eat as I am back to constant back pain and my gait is becoming more rigid again. I am going to request a higher dosage hoping it will relax my leg even more this round.

Advice & Tips
This treatment is costly but definitely worth the money. It was a bit tender in the area injected for a couple weeks but other then that I was so happy with the ability to straighten my leg on my awakening in the morning without having to massage and exercise my leg. I actually was pain free in my lower back for about 6 weeks and even now have miniml discomfort.

$50-99 monthly
