Oct 5, 2014 (Started Aug 08, 2002)

  • Perceived effectiveness for Multiple Sclerosis: Can’t tell
  • Side Effects: Severe
  • Adherence: Usually
  • Burden: Very
Dosage: 20 mg Daily
Advice & Tips: This round of Copaxone has not been good for me. I have now developed large, itchy welts that are still present over 5 days later with no sign of going away. I am concerned about cellulitis and my risk for that. This drug is not worth the hassle for me.
Cost: < $25 monthly
Side effects: Injection site itching, Injection site reaction, Redness, Itching (pruritus), Lumps and bumps

Oct 3, 2014 (Started Aug 08, 2002)

  • Perceived effectiveness for Multiple Sclerosis: Can’t tell
  • Side Effects: Moderate
  • Adherence: Usually
  • Burden: Somewhat
Dosage: 20 mg Daily
Advice & Tips: I have started Copaxone again and am now getting large, itchy welts (like a large mosquito bite that have lasted almost 48 hours). Feels more like an allergic reaction of some type????
Cost: < $25 monthly
Side effects: Injection site itching, Injection site reaction, Redness, Itching (pruritus), Lumps and bumps

May 17, 2011 (Started Aug 08, 2002)

  • Perceived effectiveness for Multiple Sclerosis: Can’t tell
  • Side Effects: Mild
  • Adherence: Usually
  • Burden: A little
Dosage: 20 mg Daily
Advice & Tips: I am stopping it as a test since I am relatively stable at this point and the doctor wants to really evaluate my MS versus Fibromylagia.
Cost: < $25 monthly
Side effects: Injection site itching, Injection site reaction, Redness, Itching (pruritus), Lumps and bumps

Sep 19, 2010 (Started Aug 08, 2002)

  • Perceived effectiveness for Multiple Sclerosis: Moderate
  • Side Effects: None
  • Adherence: Usually
  • Burden: A little
Dosage: 20 mg Daily
Advice & Tips: The shot is going to sting a little bit. To cut down on the sting, make sure that the drop on the end of the needle is shaken away and make sure the alcohol on the site is dried.
Cost: < $25 monthly
Side effects: Injection site itching, Injection site reaction, Redness, Itching (pruritus), Lumps and bumps

May 11, 2010 (Started Aug 08, 2002)

Mar 4, 2009 (Started Aug 08, 2002)

  • Perceived effectiveness for Multiple Sclerosis: Major
  • Side Effects: Mild
  • Adherence: Usually
  • Burden: Not at all
Dosage: 20 mg Daily
Advice & Tips: I would choose a Copaxone daily injection even over an oral therapy that acted with the side-effects of an Interferon. I don't mind the needle at all.
Cost: < $25 monthly
Side effects: Injection site itching, Injection site reaction, Redness, Itching (pruritus), Lumps and bumps

  • Perceived effectiveness for Multiple Sclerosis: Can’t tell
  • Side Effects: Mild
  • Adherence: Always
  • Burden: Not at all
Dosage: 20 mg Daily
Advice & Tips: it's always been a chore for me to remember meds, even including like, antibiotics (taken 2,3,or 4 time a day... i'd always forget!!!) but this is a once a day shot i take every morning. if i happen to forget it, (happened a time or two since starting it) i can still take it as long as it is at least 12 hours till my next shot. a lot of pressure to be RIGHT ON TIME is gone. so much nicer... i DO get the lumps after the shot on my legs, and the sting/itch on am shot days, but nothing i can't deal with. pretty positive experience overall. :)

  • Perceived effectiveness for Multiple Sclerosis: Moderate
  • Side Effects: None
  • Adherence: Usually
  • Burden: A little

Side effects: Redness, Lumps and bumps, Injection site itching, Injection site pain

Nov 22, 2009 (Started May 21, 2009)

  • Perceived effectiveness for Multiple Sclerosis: Can’t tell
  • Side Effects: Mild
  • Adherence: Always
  • Burden: A little
Dosage: 20 mg Daily
Advice & Tips: I take this right before I go to bed at night. Moving around helps - if I sit still right after, the pain is worse. I just read some advice on this site to warm the needle to body temperature - I did it last night and the pain was much less intense! The pain stayed localized at the injection site instead of spreading a foot from the site as it usually does. I put the needle against my stomach for 2 minutes. You get used to the pain thought - if these meds work it's totally worth it.
Cost: < $25 monthly
Side effects: Redness, Lumps and bumps, Injection site itching, Injection site pain
