Advice & Tips: Amantadine acted like it was trying to put a stop to my bladder functions. I gave it a very hones try (1.5 weeks) but the effect it was having on my bladder was more than I could take, as for the day time fatigue, it was almost no help. My Dr. gave me Provigil which I will start tomorrow.

Advice & Tips: Once a week, I can walk for about half an hour before taking my medication. This began shortly after I started Mirapex. I stopped Amantadine and Azilect prior to hernia surgery. After surgery, I resumed the Azilect but not the Amantadine, and could not do my weekly walk without medication. Adding the Amantadine fixed that.

Advice & Tips: since I take so many other meds, this one isn't difficult. I think taking it has helped me to not have colds because i rarely have one.

Advice & Tips: This med worked quite well for many years. Only in the last 2 years, the fatigue has become so great, that I wonder if taking it still serves any purpose. Dosing 3 times a day always requires some memory jog for the mid-day dose.

Advice & Tips: In 2008, I was taking Amantadine capsules but dropped them for some reason which I didn't record. The syrup was recommended by a PA in my neurologist's office. My primary management problems with it are related to its form: 1) my wife requires me to keep it in the kitchen where I sometimes forget to take it; 2) I use a cylindrical dosage device which holds 10ml and I tried measuring it painstakingly at 5ml until I noticed that the specified dosage is 1 to 2 teaspoons full (5 to 10 ml) twice a day; so now I fill the device about 2/3 full (7.5 to 8.5 ml) and don't worry about the variation in the dosage
