Advice & Tips: I still have not found the right dosage. I feel I need to go a little stronger as far as that goes. I have noticed increased sweating, extreme dry mouth and constipation. I take MIRALAX every morning now, mixed in my coffee and that has really helped with the constipation. I also noticed that I need to increase amount of dosage and frequency about every six months. BUT, it sure has taken the edge off the pain. I took 750 mg. of Vicodin, 2 at a time, for almost six months and it wasn't working.

Advice & Tips: Sometimes I feel so tired, that I tend to fall asleep during the day! At night I become so wired that I cannot sleep, but during the day I will be sitting at the PC, or watching TV, and then wham! A few minutes later I wake up with almost o clue how long I've been asleep... In fact I've fallen asleep six times since I started writing this, and each time I awaken I ask this question, "IF I'm suddenly falling alseep all the time without any reason --- is the dose I'm on too strong?" The last time I increased my dosage was before I restarted my Enbrel started to work, and I'm thinking that maybe it's time to decrease my dosage again

Advice & Tips: Take as prescribed. If you happen to injure yourself and have been on this medicine for a long period of time you will need an extra medicine for an injury. Currently I have injured my right knee again. While the oxycontin works excellent for my pain issues. It is very important to keep in contact with your doctor if you have any other pain not related to the fibro. I don't think I could walk into a Dr's office today and be prescribed this medication for pain. But i started out on a very low dose I want to say 8 yrs ago. I have not had an increase in my dose for 6 years. And I still feel it is very effective. Some people may differ with my opinion. But for me it has been a godsend. And I never carry all of my medicine on me. Because from the inital visit with my Dr. he was very upfront and said I don't care if your house burns down I will not refill early. And with the fibro fog I have left my purse behind at the store and I carry one days dose with me. It's a good idea.

Advice & Tips: I have never gone off of this medicine. Yesterday was my first visit with a new therapist. Everything was OK until I told him I was on Oxycontin. He had the nerve to basically compare me to Anna Nicole Smith. It is very helpful. I have liver disease. Very few side effects. But I know they have new medications on the market I would give them a try first.
