I am t the max dosage for Lunesta. Anymore it does not always help me sleep. My Dr has said if I want to quit and go to a different sleep med he will prescribe one. I was also told that Lunesta would let me sleep without having diffuclt dreams. This has not been the case. I have recurring bad dreams. And I am only sleeping 5 to 6 hours a nite.

I have started to take the Lunesta again. I only take it occasionally. I know the nights that I need it before I ever go to bed. Whenever I know that I MUST get up in the morning then I take my Lunesta so that I can fall asleep and wake up feeling refreshed.

When you see the Lunesta butterfly on the TV that is exactly how you feel when you take the Lunesta. You just gently fall asleep. The reason I stopped taking the Lunesta was my PCP increased my Lortab to 3 per day so now I am able to fall asleep. My pain is no longer keeping me awake at bedtime and my mind no longer races at bedtime. It is like the sleeping pills have retrained my mind to sleep
Always make sure you give yourself at least 8 hours to sleep. When first starting this, you will feel sluggish in the morning for a week or so, so plan for that in your routine.

It works fairly well, did have to go to a higher dose after being on it for a while. But it does work most of the time, but my insomnia is severe so it does not work all the time & it does not always keep me asleep all night.
