IBUprofen is easy, cheap and you can get it as a generic which is good!
Exercise, good nutrition, very low if any intake of: sugar, simple carbs, caffeine or alcohol is best. I make certain my foods are cooked 'al dente' - then I'm happy, and comfortable - if they are overcooked i get extreme swelling in the gut, then joints and it's all downhill for a few days after that - so I just avoid getting inflammed.
Eating plenty of good quality proteins and natural fats (10%MF yogurt, 14-17% MF sour cream, butter, olive, grapeseed and coconut oils are good - my body responds very positively to them and my weight stays low and steady 52kilos - 116 lbs. Plus because I'm satisfied i don't feel the urge to overeat a t all.)
Exercise and stretching and keeping a good positive attitude despite my less than great finances are important and are helping me to hopefully fend off my weird little HLA-B27 Ankylosing Spondylitis gene - though I do experience the symptoms daily.
