Phenytoin is an Osteoclast drug, that is the effects on my body make my osteoporosis worse, I do take a 1050mg codliver oil/vit D capsule as recomended by the neurologist as he is conversant with my osteoporosis. Furher to that my appointment with his clinic in May will be looking to reducing the dose further which at present is 200mg daily.

I got sick, I stayed sick, low T-cell count, low white blood cell count. I know very few people have this problem with this medication, but this is far and away the one of the two worst treatments I endured for my epilepsy.

I had surgery 8/27/11, and they said it cured me. Started getting all toxic effects from dilantin. It never worked and just makes me sick. If I take with food, it seems to help block it a bit.

This is a strong medicine, wears on the memory after time, not to be on for a long time, I have been on it for 5 years, my memory is getting bad and was not aware that I should not take this, other meds dont work at all, if you dont persist that the doctors find a way, they wont work for you on their own. Look into the meds they prescribe and the side effects, if I go a day or more without taking this, it will induce a seizure, like it did this last 4wks when I was sick. I need to get off this med. so I dont loose anymore of my memory.

Make sure you know exactly what you are taking and dosages and when to take the meds. If unsure, please ask your doctor, not the pharmacist. I, myself, have had many troubles with the pharmacy I used before. I have not been totally controlled while on this med., as well as with the others.
