I was given lidocaine as a Bier block during hand surgery. Post-operatively, I had no fibromyalgia pain for 3-4 days. The effect was immediate. My pain specialist has since prescribed mexiletine. I've only been on it for a couple of weeks, but it has reduced pain by about 30%.

I was able to stand longer than 5 minutes without severe pain, and able to do some daily household functions in small increments. I was able to go grocery shopping and stand and walk around for 20 minutes before needing to sit down due to pain and clumbiness
