I get tremendous enjoyment from this treatment by Mountain Biking, Hiking, and now with the return of snow I was out Cross-Country Skiing today. Getting started is the hardest part, but then as you get fit it becomes easier and fun.
In general, the thought of exercise and sweating is horrible. Finally, though I found something that works perfectly for me for now. I bought a small, cheap jogging trampoline that is easy to get out. (weighs 10 pounds) I now jog and do various arm exercises with wrist weights that require repetition, rhythm and balance. (Yes, I keep the trampoline close to the wall, so I can catch my balance as necessary.) I love to jump - sounds strange, but joint compression releases endorphins, the feel good hormone. I haven't strained any muscle or been stiff at all. I didn't want to go to a gym too much hassle and too many germs there for me, my younger (25-35) friends are always sick from something they caught at the gym.
