Advice/Tips
I used to have really bad acid reflux for about two years. Then, when I was at The Menninger Clinic for nine weeks to basically retrieve my life from certain doom, I learned from one of the observant nurses there, Daniel, that I didn't take my pain meds with food. He asked me if I had acid reflux and I said, yes, quite badly. So from then on I have taken my vicodin and aleve with food and my acid reflux has released me from it's fiery grip.
Burden
cost and worry about taking any drug for a lifetime. Also I really wouldn't know if it was having a side-effect or unexpected effects as I am taking several drugs and I don't think at this point I would know if aleve was the cause or not of anything like maybe it adds to my constipation??? Who knows? I do know that taking pain medication with food is very important. I learned that not from the doctor who prescribed it for me but from a nurse at The Menninger clinic....I'll write more about that below...
Cost
less than $25 monthly
