Advice & Tips: Requip XL definitely controls the rigidity in my left arm and the curling, charlie horse in hands and feet. But new symptoms have appeared and I'm not sure if it's from the Meds or PD. I wake up with achy, stiff fingers and my whole body pops and cracks at the joints when I move - tendonitis? I also sleep less and have gained a little weight.

Advice & Tips: I started taking this drug to control spasms associated with TD. A pleasant side effect is that it helps me focus much better. I am taking zyprexa to control psychotic thinking but the requip made a big difference in my ability to concentrate. I can now read again.

Advice & Tips: 1. Consult with a pharmacist or a psychiatrist to find out how this drug may affect your behavior and/or mood. 2. Draw up a plan. Make sure your family and friends know to watch for any signs of behavior changes. These can be subtle at first. YOU, the patient, probably won't realize what is happening. Obsessive/compulsive and impulsive behaviors can include a lot of things besides gambling, overeating, and overspending. 3. This drug can cause hyper-sexuality. Talk to your partner and be mindful of possible effects from the drug. This is not a nice side effect!! 4. Are you also taking Sinemet? The two together can amplify side effects. We were not told about these side effects.

Advice & Tips: shortly after starting this med I noticed that there seemed to say exactly what I was thinking no matter how inappropriate. This was not a good side effect. My MD. lowered the dose which made a significant difference.
