Simple, easy, and free. It doesn't cause any problems or side effects; you can't overdose; and it helps relieve muscle tension, anxiety, and stress. I've also discovered it helps me go to sleep (even when my muscles are twitching and jerking, IF I can maintain my focus on the breathing.)
I use deep breathing a lot when trying to relax or calm down, or just stop for a moment to regain my composure.
It has worked well for me.
Would recommend it for anyone, whether they have MS or not!

I try to do this at naptime and before bed...when I remember!
It really does help...especially when I am good about doing Yoga as well!
I learned how to do this when I was studying trombone! It definitely helps to relieve stress and gives me a a feeling of serenity. I have mild sleep apnea and try to do this before sleeping.
Relaxation helps me with spasms and all over pain...Lamaz ...I am nothing if I am out of my living because of pain, I MUST keep in a good mood not only for myself but for my children!
