Dec 01, 2008 Take this as your blood work shows you need it, the problems of low thyroid can slip up on you and it takes the medication a long time to become effective. Never increase without proper blood work. NEVER decrease without same and never let a thyroid test done while you are in the hospital under stress be used as a basis for treatment level. This happened to me last year and it took all year for my family doctor to get my levels correct again. $25-49 monthly
