Advice & Tips
Be sure to take at least 1 mg of folic acid per day while on Methotrexate. If your hair starts falling out, ask your doctor about a higher dose of folic acid. Mine was increased to 2 mg daily and my hair stopped falling out. Wal-Mart's folic acid is really inexpensive.

Advice & Tips
I would take methotrexate on Friday night (with food) and throw up for 3 or 4 days...they tried moving me to injections...which would let me sleep through Friday and then start puking on Saturday! So they had to lower the dose so much that it wasn't helping the RA/SLE at all...and I still was vomiting. Finally my Rheumy felt that it was not an option for me I just couldn't handle it. When I went on Remicade (2000)they required I be on MTX but the docs just ingored that. I've had problems with a lot of medications...BUT many people do really well on this drug! I'm just a puker I guess!
