I do not like what seems to be an irritability impatience the next day which can be problematic at work.It also seemed to cause strange dreaming at times. These side effects seemed to offset whatever relief was afforded.

Took 24 mg for many years, after taking Azilect for more than a year I noticed more dyskenisa taking 8 mg at once during the day. Taking only 4mg 7am, 11, 5p and 2 at bedtime works better. Balance between dyskenesia and tremors is much improved

It was a mood enhancer, depression was much less severe. Side effects were bad: fluid retention 20-30 lbs, paranoid thoughts, obsessive behavior made this drug intolerable

psychological side effects including manic behaviors, uncontrollable shopping, insomnia, severe obsessions of creative activities, slight ignorance of family needs, major loss of weight (December 2009 - 103 lbs, size "0" clothing), fast talking, always on the run!

When diagnosed, I started off with Requip 2 mg per day and from there it was taken up to 16 mg per day. It really did help for the tremors, but for the last 3 weeks appoximately my legs, ankles and feet started swelling. At first I did not realize that the Requip had anything to do with it, but as it became worse (the edema), I did more and more research and found this link: Mombu the Medicine Forum > Medicine > Characteristics of Dopamine Agonist Induced Peripheral Edema (Swelling of the Legs) (calcium parkinson dopamine) . I discussed it with my neurologist and she immediately stopped the Requip XL and put me on Carbilev. The swelling had already started going down (one day).
