- Watch how often you increase your dosage. I have been on Ultram for over 5 years without having major problems or increases as it is effective for what I take it for, mostly the side effects and restless leg syndrome. My doctor told me when he prescribed it that it only works for about 50% of the people, the rest could be taking water so if it does nothing at the first dose, skip taking it altogether.

- Money is tight and although the generic is cheap, taking nothing would be even better!
