Initial Rx was to start with1 a day, then 2 a day, then 3 a day. Did this over a weeks time, once I reached 3 a day, I became so dizzy that keeping my balance requires me to hold onto walls, furniture, etc. I even use my 50lb dog for stabilization when walking out to the mailbox. Doc insists I continue to take as he says side effects will subside. It has helped the burning sensations in hands/feet and creepy/crawly feeling unde my skin.

This does help with the sensory problems that get so much worse in the summer. I do get fluid retention in my legs at the higher dosage so it does come with a trade off. Once the heat and humidity gets better - Sept. I go back to lower doses

When taking gabapentin prior to breakfast in the morning on an empty stomach, I experienced severe dizzy spells mid-morning. Taking this medicine with or after breakfast combats this side effect.
