Choose your therapist wisely. I didn't want a motherly therapist who would cajole me and cry with me. I wanted someone who wouldn't help me hide what is inside, who would corner me. Shop around, prices vary a lot, you can even have therapy free of cost but there is a waiting list.

My therapist is superb; the only trauma therapist at Mass General, amazingly. She is helping me address issues that have impaired my emotional functioning for decades, and I can feel the changes in my outlook as we move along. Almost done...
