I only take Ventolin as an asthma rescue medication, that is I only use it on days when I cannot breath easily, usually this is due to high humidity, or a high pollen count; otherwise I rely on my longer-acting steroid medication (Pulmicort), which I always take twice a day to prevent the severe asthma attacks.

Sometimes i'm unable to inhale enough to trip the mechanism that releases the medicine, when that happens it helps if someone holds my head up and holds the inhaler for me while my back is supported.
