Advice & Tips: this medication did not help me that much. I still experience moderate to severe pain in my lower back, neck, hips, hands, arms, calf, thighs, fingers, shoulders, etc.

Advice & Tips: sleeping all the time after having insomnia for over two years. Not complaining yet, but I am always tired and sleeping. Not getting enough exercise, and eating more. Only medication that has worked, and really eliminate the severe pain in my back, neck, legs, and hips, arm, and hands. Medication is working on all my pain, and I love it.
Cost: $50-99 monthly

Advice & Tips: Just started this medication on 11/10/2009, 300 mg at bedtime. So far it does not seem to be reducing my pain level. Will be re-evaluated in December to determine how many mg I need to relieve this Fibro pain.

Advice & Tips: while i was on gabapentin it did not appear to do much for my pain symptoms, made me drowsy during the day and not sleep well at nite. but if i didn't take it i did notice so i suppose it must've being doing something may be it was too minute.

Advice & Tips: I was started on the Gabapentin in the midst of a flare up. Unfortunately my doc was out of town as it was during the holidays. The on-call doc prescribed Gabapentin for the awful spasms and cold burning sensation I was experiencing. I was prescribed the 300mg right off the bat! It sent me for a loop! The first dose I took left me so dizzy, dopey and sleepy I could not even think straight! I did not know that Gabapentin should be started out at 100mg and built up. Upon her return, my doc put me back down to the 100mg. I never really adjusted to Gabapentin. I just couldn't get my energy back, I still had break through on my cold burning sensations, and I just didn't feel good. I stopped the Gabapentin and started on Lyrica, and OMG! What a huge difference it made in how I felt!! I know it works well for a lot of people, but it actually made me feel sicker any time I took it.

Advice & Tips: Gabapentin takes time to build up in the system, so relief is not immediate. At my current dose I cannot miss a single dose, if I do the relief is lost for 24+ hours. This product (along with it's sister, Lyrica) cause me nightmare/nightterrors that can leave me with a panic attack when I wake. The gabapentin does not leave me as depressed as the Lyrica did, so I am currently remain with it as my primary treatment.

Advice & Tips: On advice from a new Doc with a Pain Managment Group increasing Gabapentin to 600 X 3 times @ day (1800mg) and backing tramadol back to 100mg X 2 Times @ day(200mg)

Advice & Tips: Any changes from the doseage of 600mg x 2 total 1200 a day caused all sorts of problems, a lesser dose increased the sensetivet of the area causing pain increase. Increase the doseage caused more sweating with no extra pain relief.

Advice & Tips: Up Date Nov o9 The side effects although modrate are easy to manage. The relief from the burning /neddle & pins type pain is worth it. I can get socks and shoes on at least for a while, before it gets to much to bare. The overall pain still controls my life.
