I think I am nauseous because my appetite has decreased drastically and because of taking all this medicine on an empty stomach. It seems to help.

Be very carful when using phernagan as it can be very sedative even though i can be brought over the counter (without skript) but if u are suffering lack of sleep and would like to steep clear of heavier sedatives (eg; Diazepam) try phernagan

While I was on promethazine I surprisingly gained an extra 12kgs in body weight (nearly a 20% increase) over about ten months. The past three months I've been off it I have lost about half that (6kgs) with no real effort and no other change besides stopping the daily promethazine 25mg tablets. I was highly surprised to learn that weight gain is considered a possible side effect for long term use of antihistamines - the reason I learnt is apparently because antihistamines effect appetite control enzymes. While a surprise it rung true because I wasn't the only person to notice that my appetite had increased significantly and included feeling hungry after a regular meal and even food cravings during the late night.
