took this medication due to Methotrexate side effects were too severe and have hand growths due to the 3 years I was on it. Doctor said Arava was secondary treatment once failed Methotrexate. Arava caused me side effects different than the Methotrexate.

This medication has almost eliminated my pain levels. I have the occasional flare but NOTHING like it has been.
HOWEVER my psoriasis, that was almost completely gone after taking Methotrexate for six months, is now back worse than ever and I have experienced hair loss ever since I started taking it (November 2010)

I failed traditional methotrexate treatment due to major nausea & vomiting. My rheumatologist switched me to Arava and after about 2 months of taking it, I noticed a big difference in my RA symptoms....they were starting to disappear. My c-reactive protein lab tests now are almost normal! I highly recommend it to people who can't tolerate methotrexate. It works wonders for me!
