Advice & Tips
This survey doesn't account for the way i take L-dopa. I started out at 1 tablet every 6 hours. Now I am at 0.75 tablet every 4 hours. So this means i am taking a smaller dose at more frequent intervals as Parkinson's progresses. If I take more than needed, the dyskinesia starts. If I go too long without a dose (usually sitting at work or computer), forget to take it, hand tremor starts.

Advice & Tips
When I first started this 11 months ago, I felt so light and free on my feet. Much easier to type. Much more effective than Mirapex which made me tired). Then, I started getting more rigid, so the Dr increased the dose from from 1 tab 3x a day to 1.5 tabs 3x a day. I developed dyskenisia immediatley. Very disappointed, but he said i was very sensitive to it and that is also good. So, I dropped back to 1 tab 3x a day with the addition of amantadine 100mg 2x a day. I may experiment with 1.25tabs dosage to try to get the max. Dr said increasing the amantadine may contribute to insomnia.

Advice & Tips
Separate, by one hour, protein intake from treatment. Doing this separation, I'm told, assures the strongest possible impact of the treatment. My experience supports this.

Advice & Tips
Since beginning Sinemet in 10-09 I can tell a great improvement. When I was only on Mirapex and Azilect, I have many PD symptoms that were not under control. The medicine would only work for about 3 months and then the symptoms yould return. Now that I am on Sinemet, it is like a day and night improvement. The sinemet has almost made the symptoms disappear; something that the Mirapex and Azilect did not do.

Advice & Tips
I started taking Sinemet kickingi and dragging. I had been on Azilect andn Mirapex for over 18 months. My PD symptoms were increasing: the arm tremors were increasing, walking was turning back into shuffling, I felt confused, etc. I have been on Sinemet for about 3 weeks and I must admit that I haven't felt this good in years. I am talking better, less mumbling, I am actually moving more quickly.

Advice & Tips
Carbo/levo consistently seems to be the most effective med I take. I can tell when it is time for me to take another one. Since sometimes my throat tightens up and my body just refuses to take another pill, I say a little prayer, relax my throat muscle and eventually it goes down. Keeps my ability to walk with confidence at a steady level.

Advice & Tips
The drug works quite well but takes some time to adjust to a suitable dosage... I found out there is an absolute limit to how much I can take in a 23-hour period. If I take more than five tablets, severe side effects kick in. Also while on this drug I am tired most of the time.

Advice & Tips
I immediatly felt a positive difference when I started . I am still taking Carbidopa Levodopa , not just the Extended release. My neuro wanted to switch me to another medication (stalevo) which he called Sinemet "with a kick." I was not able to take the Stalevo as my insurance co-payment would have been $100.00. We switched to a combo of Carbidopa Levodopa and Comton.

Advice & Tips
I have been on the carbidopa/levadopa (25/100) for over 1 year. When I first started I felt an immediate change for the better. About 4 months ago, I started to see more of the old PD symptoms come back. Mostly, I was having leg stiffness/spasms. Then I started having difficulty forming my words, etc. I went for my regular check-up. My peak (on )time had changed from morning to the afternoon. Therefore, I remain on 2 daily doses (am and at lunch ) of the regular carbidopa/levedopa 25/10. At 7pm I take the controlled release. this is to get me through the night and to have a better morning.

Advice & Tips
With the support of my neurologist, I stopped taking Sinemet 25/100 because I didn't seem to need it. It had been prescribed as PRN, but I was not having a need for it. I keep one or two with me, just in case, but have not taken it in several months.
