Advice & Tips
I continue to function better having Finny. I have to. Who else will feed/water her or take her outside to eliminate? She is with me nearly 24/7. She's a great emotional support.

Advice & Tips
I didn't expect Finny to actually help in my recovery. I only got her because she looked so elegant (even though I generally don't like animals). She goes with me almost everywhere. Sometimes I even make the mistake of calling her my daughter's name. I think I've bonded with her - I don't bond well with people. I hate intimacy, but Finny and I are very close. She makes me laugh, which I did extremely rarely before. She's very, very funny and I think I must be in love with her. She is a lot of work, though. She's a terrier (read, hyperactive). Training her to be a responsible service dog takes constant attention, which I don't always give. And then she needs to go out and I have to go out. I have a hard time getting out for her - and myself - to exercise.

Advice & Tips
Yes, sometimes it's a pain to take Finny outside so she can defecate/urinate. And training has sometimes been spotty. I'm training her myself so she will bond with me and behave in a manner that I want. She has made such a difference in my life. Perhaps, on some level, I even connect with her (rather than people). Occasionally I'll call her my daughter's name. She goes almost everywhere with me, including work. I worry about her when she's not with me and sometimes get anxious that she'll bother people.
