- Most the time it is not necessary to take this vitamin in IM form every day like me. I used to get by for years taking these shots only a couple times a week. On a cost level, these vitamins are not inexpensive and I get them specially compounded without preservatives to avoid further chemical sensitivities. Must use care with giving injection as painlessly as possible and avoid contaminating vial with used needles. I gave myself an abscess once due to poor aseptic technique.
