I am 44 and had a long h/o urinary tract infections and reflux.In summer of 2007 dx with IGA nephropathy and was told I had 13% kidney function.I worked in dialysis while going to college and knew that was not what I wanted.I started pursuing kidney transplant.Was listed at 3 places in 3 states.But my brother-in-law got tested and was a close match.He was medically cleared in Dec.The transplant took place at John Hopkins by Dr.Robert Montgomery.Everything is working well.The transplant has opened up new doors of opportunity and I'm very excited!Greatful for my second chance at life!!!
