I lived on the Gulf Coast of Alabama most of my adult life. When my children were grown I moved to the Southwest where I liked to hike and backpack. I had retired from my job as a forensic toxicologist to work in a clinical laboratory in Arizona using my increased leisure time to explore the outdoors. Now that I am no longer able to do strenuous hikes I enjoy going to places where I can walk a short distance and still be in the wilderness. These places are etched in my heart and will be there even when I can no longer see them.
