I live in a small town and was a teacher. While I was working I was reluctant to have my diagnosis become public. I was concerned about people's perception of how it might affect my job. In January it became clear that I needed to take steps to leave my job. Full-time teaching is extremely demanding. You have little to no control over your schedule and have to be "on" non-stop. I was finding it just too difficult. I went out on disability at the end of the school year. I loved my job but am relieved to be done. I am looking forward to the future.
