I am a 60-year-old woman recently retired agricultural research tech for USDA. My daughter and son-in-law are my CALS. I'm in love with my granddaughters. Daily life is a struggle; I don't walk or stand and have no hand function, but I can still read, breathe and visit. I find a lot to laugh about. ALS has opened my eyes to what is really important: family and friends and the knowledge that this moment is all any of us have.
