I was not diagnosed with kidney disease til the age of 9 where they said I had Urinary Reflux. By then it was too late to save my kidneys. The Nephrologist said it could have easily been saved as it was caused by reflux on one side only. I ended up losing both my kidneys by the age of 16. No reimplantation of the ureters. By age 36 I have had 2 kidney transplants after being on PD and HD and have no adrenal glands and have had my parathyroids removed and have been just diagnosed this year with Stein-Leventhal syndrome which as a side effect can cause weight gain. I am here to monitor my labs.
