Graduated from University of Arizona 1976. Married to a sweet Virginia woman and have an attorney stepson, who I am very proud of. I have the love and support of many friends and family. My church is the First Unitarian Universalist of Richmond.
I live in Chesterfield Co, VA and work as a Procurement Manager for the Commonwealth. I am still working part time and fitting in the multitude of medical apointments.
I am currently in UVA clinical drug trial for R(+)pramipexole.
My father died 12 months from ALS diagnosis in 1975; brother died 12 months from ALS diagnosis in 1997. It is possible that my paternal grandfather succumbed from this disease in 1932 with a "strange paralysis". Father and grandfather were veterans.
About Mar 07 I experienced quirky happenings. I would trip UP the stairs; drop keys, go to pick them up and drop again, go to pick those up and drop again. The cause was determined to just getting older. Then in June I attended a high school graduation for a niece, where I tripped over bleachers and fell. At work, I observed myself walking with a left leaning bent. I had to focus on walking straight. So to test myself, I tried to run. It didn't happen. The doctor visits then started with me always telling of family history with ALS.
