At the age of 19 years old I came down with oral thrush and went to my family doctor for treatment. The diagnosis was HIV/AIDS with 20-CD4/ 1000-VL. I could not pin point the source of the HIV, except for my hospitalization at the age of 14 from a bike accident. I had a swollen spleen and internal bleeding where I may have received platelets to help stop the bleeding. Life has taught me to not stress over the small thing or to quote The Eagles "get over it". Today I'm a "positive" and driven woman with a huge support group of loved ones. I'm blessed to have found PLM hiv, it is so intuitive!
