- Cooking and fishing for Sockeye Salmon are my hobbies. I am 67, an active woman retired to Soldotna, Alaska on the Kenai River, along with husband of 48 years, George who takes good of me. I also volunteer at local Thrift Store, 5 days a week. What a shock my ALS diagnosis was. I can limp along on level ground fairly well with a cane but can't climb a stairs, walk on inclines /declines. Balance is a problems, my hands tremble and I have severe insomnia.
