- I have suffered from degenerative joint disease for most of my adult life, so it was very difficult to obtain a diagnosis of fibromyalgia. But the occurence of additional symptoms provided the map my dr needed to diagnosis me. I had to retire early on permanent diability due to the djd and fibro. My pain and inability to focus/concentrate interferred too greatly with my job. I am able now to rest when I need to and take life at a pace that is acceptable for me.
