Since finding out that I may have FM in May 09, I have learnt that FM can occur after trauma. My onset was immediately after giving birth to my son Charlie. I almost died due to massive blood loss and I had 3 surgeries in less than 24hrs which luckily saved my life. Unfortunately this was my first child and I can not have any more children as a result of the surgery that saved my life. I remember the muscle spasms when I was in intensive care along with pain and anxiety and insomnia (which at the time I attributed to the trauma and being separated from my baby).
