I've been with my husband now for 16 years & i can honestly say i am truly blessed because no matter what kind of " high " or " low " i'm in he's right by my side . I love to take walks with my dog when i can , listen to all kinds of music and hang out with friends and family . I'm actually a very social person .
As you may know if you have bipolar it's probably 1 of the hardest disorders for families & friends to understand as well as Dr's to find that " perfect " medication . I still don't think my family truly understands what bipolar means or what i go through all's they see or hear is the mile a minute thoughts as my mom puts it lol , or the can't sit still to save my life or there's the cleaning mode too where i will clean for hours & can't stop . But on the flip side then there's the " low" which then i just don't wanna talk to anyone to i'm a grump . I've been hospitalizalized more times then i can count , had over 80 shock treatments (which back in the 90's was the thing to try ) and was on some pretty heavy drugs to help control the highs & lows . Everything from lithium to risperdol im countless others nothing ever worked so over the years i have learned to deal with it as have my family & wonderful friends . If i just had 1 piece of advice for anyone don't ever give up because someday they will come out with that " magic " pill & all will be o.k ... Plus my grammy (may she r.i.p ) she used to say ALL the time what doesn't kill ya only makes you stronger & let me tell ya i live by those words daily because i just recently got out of a wheelcair when they thought i would never walk again so i thank god & those words everyday lol .. God Bless
