- More typical symptoms of Parkinson's Disease including slowness, stiffness, gait and balance problems started about four years ago, toe tremors a year ago, but bouts of depression began when I was 16 yrs.old. In 1992 a very stressful occupation led to acute anxiety & depression which was treatable with SSRI's (prozac & zoloft). PD symptoms started to develop about 5 yrs. ago on higher doses of zoloft so I now take the least amount to reduce the depression.
