- i'm medically retired from 23 yrs of teaching which i loved till i got too sick. i love to read, most anything. i love to knit, mostly socks, to which i am addicted. i'm 56 yrs old. i'm 2 yrs 5 moths clean and sober from everything except the Rx prescribed by the doc. i'm learning to laugh and to have and make friends. i HATE this disease and what it has taken from me and my life. however, since i am now 'retired', i can visit my elderly parents on a weekly basis and thus we have mended the hurts and pains that were between us. without these visits i would not be able send them on w/ love.
