- I knew there was something wrong but I was rather hoping for a radish deficiency in my diet or a trapped nerve! I am the single mum of a fantastic 13 yr old girl. I worked for 3 yrs after dx but have finally taken sick leave. I use a powerchair and hoist and have help at home. I have been a competant and entheusiastic musician; guitar, piano, violin, sax etc... but can no longer play; I still enjoy listening and writing a little. I often worry about coping with the condition in its more advanced stages but have discovered an erstwhile untapped inner-strength and a few good friends.
