I had symptoms years before I was diagnosed with ALS and my doctors said I was just getting old but I was sure there was something wrong when I fell down for no apparent reason.
I was born in California, North of San Francisco, and graduated from high school in 1959. I started college and then was drafted, art majors were not very important, into the military in 1962. I survived the military, Cuban missle crises and Vietnam, and went back to college on the GI Bill and received a masters degree in art. After college I worked in natural history museums building exhibits, rocks, trees, dinasours etc. About this time I meet my wife Penny in San Francisco, just a couple of hippies, and we got married and have been married forever. Worked in museums for 35 years and retired from the Museum of the Rockies in Bozeman Montana. Moved to a small farm in Mississippi where we raise sheep and train sheepdogs [Border Collies].
